Bupropion SR (Zyban indication) is USPSTF/AHCPR-recommended for tobacco cessation; second-line after varenicline due to lower efficacy and seizure-risk contraindications. Particularly useful when comorbid depression or weight-gain concerns. AVOID in patients also taking tamoxifen (CYP2D6 inhibition reduces active metabolite endoxifen).
