51M software engineer presents to dermatology after wife noticed pigmented_skin_lesion on his upper back during beach vacation. He reports the changing_nevus has evolved over 9 months — was 'a small mole' he had since teenage years, now new_pigmented_growth ~1.4 cm with darker center and asymmetric border. abcde_lesion positive on all five criteria. Significant lifetime UV exposure (estimated 200+ days outdoor sailing/skiing without sunscreen during 20s-30s). No prior skin cancers; family history negative for melanoma. Dermoscopy shows atypical pigment network + atypical dots + structureless areas. No palpable regional lymphadenopathy. Strongly suspicious for cutaneous_melanoma_suspect — excisional biopsy with 2 mm margins planned.
