STUB. LAST/CAP-recommended adjunct IHC to distinguish CIN2 (HSIL biology — block-positive p16) from CIN1 (LSIL, mimicking metaplasia — focal/ negative). Block-positive p16 = surrogate for HR-HPV-driven transforming infection; upgrades CIN2 morphologic equivocal cases into HSIL, triggering excisional treatment (LEEP/cold-knife conization) rather than observation. Not a treatment-selection variant biomarker — IHC surrogate only.
