IARC Group 1 carcinogen — established etiological driver of lung cancer (NSCLC + SCLC; population-attributable fraction ~80-90%), urothelial bladder cancer, head + neck squamous cell carcinoma, oropharyngeal, laryngeal, esophageal SCC, pancreatic cancer, kidney (RCC), cervical, acute myeloid leukemia (component cause), and others (~20 cancer types per US Surgeon General reports).
