Red Flag Origin

DefinitionHistory of therapeutic radiation exposure ≥5 years ago to a body region — most commonly mantle / chest radiotherapy for Hodgkin lymphoma in adolescence/young adulthood; breast/thorax RT for childhood cancers; pelvic RT for testicular / cervical / rectal cancer. Increased risk of radiation-induced second primary malignancies in irradiated field: breast cancer (post-mantle RT in women), sarcoma, thyroid cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, secondary leukemia. Risk peaks 10-30 years post-RT. Prevention-persona RedFlag (§20 v0.3 iatrogenic).
