STUB. FDA mandatory density notification (2024). Categories C+D ("dense breasts") affect ~40% of women aged 40-74 and confer (a) ~1.2-2× higher breast cancer risk and (b) reduced mammography sensitivity (~50-60% in D vs ~85% in A). Triggers supplemental imaging consideration: hand-held ultrasound (HHUS), automated breast US (ABUS), abbreviated MRI (TBI), contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM). Not a treatment biomarker — screening-pathway selector only.
