Sensitivity ~74% for CRC, ~24% for advanced adenoma (single test). Positive FIT mandates diagnostic colonoscopy within ≤6 mo (program benefit lost if delayed). Cheaper, less invasive than colonoscopy; trades single-test sensitivity for repetition. Not for symptomatic patients — they go straight to colonoscopy.
