STUB. USPSTF Grade A — average-risk CRC screening alternative to colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy; annual interval ages 45-75 (50-75 prior). Sensitivity ~74% for CRC, ~24% for advanced adenoma (single test). Positive FIT mandates diagnostic colonoscopy within ≤6 mo (program benefit lost if delayed). Cheaper, less invasive than colonoscopy; trades single-test sensitivity for repetition. Not for symptomatic patients — they go straight to colonoscopy.
